![]() We don't know how Apple is gonna do "pro" versions of their yearly chip designs. Most of my Steam stuff stopped working, I can't even use Windows anymore unless I update Prallels for like $50 even though it'll not even work at all on an M1 when I upgrade. I don't know about games on Macs these days. So I guess get used to only having 2 ports if you don't already. Or they might save 4 ports for the higher-end ones. I'm sure the Air will keep just two bt the low-end Pro might possibly get 4 maybe. But current M1 MacBooks all only have 2 USB-C ports. But if you can't then you'll have no problems with the current model. But remember something better is always coming. The current Air is still really really good. But soon it will be that time for them to be updated. But the Air was updated last fall so I would bet around the same time, if not a few months later, the Air and lower-end Pros will also get their updates for the year. They cant make a software update for the Series 3 to fix that? But anywho, that's fairĬlick to shrink.Well we're definitely getting new high-end Pros within a few months. I'm not trying to defense force it, I'm just wondering what other people's podcast listening habits are like to get them this bent out of shape - I feel like I'm doing podcasts wrong. I keep coming across editorials that describe the Podcast app experience as entirely broken or very poor and I just don't understand it. ![]() I can understand frustration over podcast progress not syncing unless you're clicked on subscribe within the Podcast app, but my habits also don't really get me doing podcast discoverability - I feel like the 10 or so subscriptions I have churn out enough content to last me a whole week before they all begin to refresh again, and while there was a brief adjustment period to the new layout, I haven't had a difficult time of it since making my own adjustments. I never ran into issues with the Apple Podcast app prior to trying out Overcast, and aside from that one very specific issue I just mentioned, I had zero issues with Overcast either, but Apple Podcast seems to work just fine for me. I feel like I must be either an ultra-casual podcast listener (but I do listen to podcasts a LOT during my downtime) or just not taking advantage of listening features that other people really crave. but I feel like I'm some sort of freak watching some people absolutely blast the updated Podcasts app while I seem to be having just a fine time with it? Like I moved back over from Overcast solely because I couldn't use my keyboard to pause/play and ff/rewind on my M1 Macbook Air. I used Pocket Casts exclusively during my Android days before switching over to Apple ecosystem in 2019 for about 4 years I tried Overcast after complaints started pouring in about how bad the new Apple Podcasts app is. So, I will say that Overcast and Pocket Casts are good apps. If I ever get into video editing or graphic design or whatever (which I might do on websites like Adobe Spark) I'd use my desktop. Just youtube, maybe downloading some large files in the background, multiple tabs open, and at best a really simple game (non 3D graphics, nothing too graphically intense on screen.think like Stardew Valley or something). How badly disadvantaged would I be considering the Air doesnt have a dedicated fan like the Pro does? I dont do anything too intense. Lastly Ive never owned and Air, just the Pro. ![]() I wonder if realistically, any of this would be a huge deal, but the price of the 2020 Air seems to good to pass up. The return of the F-keys (the touch ID bar always looked stupid to me). The large bezels vs the rumoured thin display This is a good deal, no? I know there's the new Macbooks coming out, but they'd be expensive right? Would the new M-chip be significantly better than the M1? I feel like the following would be an issue for me: I can get the Macbook Air M1 for $990 CAD when I trade in my early 2015 model + get a discount. Click to shrink. They cant make a software update for the Series 3 to fix that? But anywho, that's fair
